Nathiagali is a beautiful hill station, where you can feel and experience all the true colours of the nature at its best.Nathiagali is about 35Km drive from Abbottabad and Murree. Nathiagali from Abbottabad is easily reachable within one hour and is close to Murree, another popular hillstation. Nathiagali is a part of Galyat range, where several hill-stations are situated , closely connected to each other, with names mostly ending as 'Gali'. Nathiagali is a heaven on earth and is well known for hiking tracks and pleasant weather, which is much cooler than the rest of the Galyat due to its being at a greater altitude. Walnut, Oak, and Maple trees as well as pines add to the tranquility of this serene place. The nearest major airport to Nathiagali is in Islamabad. The ideal time for visiting Nathiagali is during summer as the temperature is very pleasant in the month of May, June, July and August and September. From July till September is the monsoon season when unexpected storms and hail can bring chilly weather.
Nathia Gali boasts a nice Church, St. Matthew's, a remnant from the British period and is made entirely of wood. It is located at the edge of the mountain with a stunning panoramic view towards Kashmir. Nathiagali Church is at about 40 minutes drive from the Abbottabad city. Nathia Gali is famous for its lush green meadows, deep forests of oak, cedar and pine, whereas fog in the month of July and August present a glory. While , in winter snowfall adds a beauty to the scene.
Miranjani peak offers spectacular views. As Miranjani is the highest peak, at 2,992 metres (9,816 ft), of Nathiagali. Be it on a honeymoon tour, or family vacation or an outing with friends, fun and liveliness never ceases to stop in Miranjani. Miranjani is a great attraction for hikers and is truly a visitor’s delight. Miranjani peak is all clad in the Western Himalayan subalpine conifer forests, with Pine, Walnut, Oak, Maple trees and shrubs and herbs. By hiking from Nathiagali it takes almost four hours to reach the Miranjani Peak. Another route starts from the Governor’s House in Nathiagali. From Miranjani one take many short strolls through the pine forests in Ayubia National Park. Nearby Places that can be easily seen from the Miranjani peak are Abbottabad city, Azad Kashmir, Jhelum River (Kohala), Tarbela lake, Havelian, and Thandiani. On a clear day the 'treacherous' mountain Nanga Parbat can also be seen 400 kilometres (250 miles) away.
Mushkpuri is the second highest hill of Galyat range, KPK, Pakistan. It is located in the Hills of Nathiagali in District Abbottabad. There is about 3 hours long but safe hill track to the top. It is approximately 9452 feet (2,800 meters) above sea level. Track to Mushkpuri top starts from Nathiagali spiraling upward through green pine forests. It is 4 kilometers (2.5 miles) of climb. It is one of the world's beautiful tracks. The way to the top is breathtaking, very verdant and is rich with fragmented flowers. Especially at the end of the rainy season it gives a very attractive view to the hikers. This track is also called as Mukshpuri track as Dungagali is situated at the base of Mukshpuri Peak.When going from Murree to Nathiagali, Mushkpuri track comes 3km before Nathiagali. It leads you from Dungagali to Ayubia.
Ayubia National Park (known as Ayubia) is a protected area of 3,312 hectares (8,184 acres) located in Abbottabad District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, northern Pakistan. It was declared a national park in 1984. Ayubia was named after the late Muhammad Ayub Khan (1958–1969), second President of Pakistan. The area supports temperate coniferous forest and temperate broadleaf and mixed forest ecoregion habitats, with an average elevation of 8,000 feet (2,400 m) above the sea level. You should visit this piece of paradise and witness the mesmerising beauty.
Abbottabad city is located at about 34km from Nathiagali and it takes approximately 48 minutes of driving to reach from Nathiagali. Abbottabad has always been attracting tourists to the city since the colonial era, as it is a major transit point to all major tourist regions of Pakistan such as Nathiagali, Ayubia and Naran. In the summer, specially during summer vacations, when temperature rises to around 45 degrees Celsius in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a large number of tourists travel to Abbottabad. The Karakoram Highway, which traces one of the paths of the ancient Silk Road, starts from Hasan Abdal on the N5 and heads north passing through the city, eventually reaching Khunjerab Pass. Thandiani is a hill station located about 24 kilometers, 1 and Half hour of drive from Abbottabad and from Murree it is at about 2 hours drive. It is one of the uppermost locations of the Abbottabad District.Thandiani is a superb place for nature lovers. The beauty of this lush green hill station is not spoiled by the crowds like many of other hill stations in summer making it a perfect place to go for those who really want to relax in a peaceful place far away from the hustle bustle of their busy modern life.There are beautiful trees on the way to Thandiani and also a few small caves which are probably home for wildlife. Local wildlife includes leopards, monkeys, pheasants and the cute flying squirrels. The dawn in Thandiani is heart touching but very cold as well. It is very cold in Thandiani especially at night even during summers. When we first enter Thandiani, at the top there is a road which seems to go all the way to the sky, like a way to heaven. It gives wonderful view of surrounding areas. The flourishing green peaceful Thandiani is a place worth visiting.
